Not oft discussed on PH, is there a particular reason (or lot of them?)

I know it's a Focus on stilts, but I think they look good, and wondered if any owners had any feedback, or could shed some light on the specs available (basically a Titanium seems to have a lot as standard, the X Pack gives full leather & a panoramic sunroof, can it also come with an Appearance Pack- roof rails/ tints, and a Convenience Pack, which has "other stuff"?)

I think the 3rd of those packs is needed for the split tailgate, or are they a standard featur?

Looking at an 09 ish 163bhp derv with as much kit as possible, the Kuga2 seems to have meant a price drop already for these easlier ones, which now makes them pretty good VFM against the competition.

More than accepting they're not a massively PH worthy vehicle, are they really that bad????

We have a 59 reg one (had it from new). Basically, it's fantastic and have been very impressed by it. We went for the 2WD option (it's cheaper on roadtax and is pretty adequate in the snow). It's a Titanium 2.0L diesel as the zetec ones at the time had gastly body coloured matching floor console and interior door trim. I went for the power converter (for the kids to charge their gadgets in the back) and bluetooth option. The split tail gate set up was pretty much standard, although the later ones are slighly different (not as nice in my opinion). My mate has jus bought a 62 model with 12 miles on it for £19K. Hope this helps!!!!

I sold tons of them and never had a complaint. I'd go for the 4X4 as it will be worth a lot more when you're done.

They all come with split tailgate as standard. The appearance pack is a must IMO as it really sets the car off, most also have 18" or 19", again as they look really smart. Convenience pack adds F+R Sensors, Powerfold mirrors and Keyless entry which is also a nice option. The X pack was a £2000 option so finding one with it on will be hard.

Drove quite a few of these in the past, usual modern Ford, good dynamics, the 163bhp engine is perfect for them. Solid build and proven mechanicals, white ones look great.

In case you'd considered it, don't go for the powershift DCT, its horrid. other than that, i like 'em. Not a huge amount of boot space for the size of vehicle tho.

Had 2 AWD version from new, both 140bhp diesels. Did about 85k miles between them. Nothing broke or fell off, good to drive and Titanium spec was pretty good.

First one came with 17" wheels and Conti 4x4 M+S Tyres. Was epic in the snow. Second one came with 18" tyres and came with Conti SC3 tyres (same as on my ST at the time). Was not even remotely epic in the snow. Quick trip (in the snow) to Elite in Rainham soon got Conti 4x4 M+S tyres (in 18") and it's epicness was restored.

Fuel consumption was equally epic, around 35mpg for the 2008 one, 37 for the 2010 one. Current Fiesta zetec-s averages 39. all with wife driving 95% of the time. High-speed motorway fuel consumption was really woeful (I know all diesels are less economical at high speed/revs) could get down to 29 to a tank on a fast run.

I Love them. Dad's friend had one - well equipped, rode well and being a 4x4 went OK off road. However MPG is not great- you'd do better with a RAV4 diesel
