Currently drive one of the new Saab 9-3 Aeros but been after an E92 beemer, when i was looking on the trader i saw one of these, did a photoshop and have kinda fell in love with it :/

Dont see any modified Mercs on the road so it would be a first. Around the same price as the beemer but its another saloon although it wouldnt really matter much

But then i look at the E92 and remember why i want one, its awesome lol

Merc all the way for me, not a BMW fan due to unreliability 2005-2009 (in my experience) sure someone will argue I am wrong but I can only go on my own experience. I havent owned one (thank god) but we had three at one time at work being replaced every six months or so - all of which spent 70% of their lives in being repaired. gotta question why we bothered in the first place replacing the first lot.

If it was my money it would be the merc for me, plus BMWs are to much of a common site on the road these days.

I'd be inclined to choose the Merc based on my experience, which is that the small BMWs feel a bit ordinary, generic and dull when not actually on the ragged edge, while a Merc (apart from an A-class) has a bit of luxury character that marks it out as a Merc, and this can be appreciated pretty much all the time you're in the car.

But since my experience doesn't include either of the actual cars posted, a test drive of both first would be a requirement for me to see if anything has changed. I still keep wanting BMW to build a small, RWD sports saloon that I actually like the feel of. I'd have it in an instant when they do.

On looks alone for me it would be the Merc, but not on those wheels.

BMW any day of the week (both if comparing standard or modified).

Alloys on the Merc are rubbish plus are those green calipers (I'm assuming not OE)?
