Selling an MX5 in January with snow around...
Discussion
With a bit of regret I am almost fully committed to buying a new car to replace my MX5.
I say with a bit of regret as I'm soon to re-locate and will only ever have access to street parking at the moment, making logistics a bit tricky.
So, what experiences have people had with selling an MX5 in January?

Well sadly, its the worst time of year to be selling but, ironically, also the best time to buy. Prices are lower than selling in Summer as not many people go looking for a 2 seater sports car in Winter.
Can you not keep hold of it. Many MX5 owners park them on a street with no problems.

My mx5 has been fine on the street too, i was worried about people going in through the hood before i bought it though.
Did have 1 incident, i left it with the hood down, glove box locked, came back to find somebody had swopped my ash tray for theirs, mouldy and full of fag butts, wish i'd seen the evil cretin so i could swop them back.

I'm selling a mk2 and looking for a mk3, so yep, people are buying, or at least trying.
I do believe the right cars will sell, good adverts, good preparation etc. at whatever time of the year. You only need someone who loves their car to write it off, then they're buying a replacement.
Mind you, I'm in no rush to sell as it is only a 3rd car which is a garaged, so best of both worlds in terms of outcome I guess.

In winter there are few buyers but plenty of choice so prices are pushed down.
There's a nice mk2.5 Nevada 1.8 at an indy near me. He's had it since last August and it's still up at exactly the same screen price since it arrived. I had a look at it in October. It's OK but a little bit overpriced.
