This is sort of a follow-on from the three spoke wheels thread.

There were some comments either directly saying, or implying, that more are better.

It got me wondering, when does more become too many?

rays ce28n's IMO have too many spokes, well at least for that size and design yet standard dc2 wheels (both 96 and 98 spec) look great IMO.

ce28n's

96 DC2

98 DC2

So, Over to you guys..

I concur. Also, the middle ones are white - if you're not running 13 or 15" compootives on aperiod group n rally car, white wheels are 1000% st.

AHEM - what about those of us with Land Rovers on white steels?

I think there does come a point when too many is too many..

Depends on the design, though, I think.

point of this thread seems to have been missed so far.

And yes it does depends on design and also peoples opinions, but I was just curious as to what people consider too many.

I'd say none of the 3 in the OP have too many spokes, the Brera on the other hand does. I don't think there is such a thing as too many spokes though to be honest, it purely depends on the style imo.

does it matter? Multi spoke wheels tend to suit most cars, its the wheels with less, much wider spokes that are hard to match.

The Rays wheels often look good until they start putting metallic red & blue pinstripes around them rolleyes
No. 3 is decent looking and looks a lot like a speedline turini, a wheel that looks good on many race/rally type vehicles imho.
Have to agree re white wheels, they have to be on the right vehicle to look any good at all.

I simply dislike alloys altogether & think they're the most stupid & pointless accessory for most average everyday modern vehicles, both alloy wheels & stupidly unpractical low profile tyres.

Totally agree. It seems OP has a fetish for jap stuff and when giving 3 examples of alloys shows 3 of the worst possible examples usually seen on import jap stuff

I agree. I like the white set the least of the 3, but still quite acceptable on the right car.

A lot more love then I expected. I can't speak for others but I dislike Japanese cars very much. Rice boilers!! Terrible cars. Granted I'm only talking for the car I experienced and that was a super mint FQ300 - bought the best I could but was very let down. It was the worst car I've owned.

Alloy wheels have bugger all to do with low profile tyres though?

They're often a crap choice as they tend to be oversized, but you can still get plenty of small alloys that look good, are lightweight and are suited to affordable tyres.

Can't say steelies and hub caps would really work on a Ferrari/Porsche/Lotus etc either.

1. Think are fairly gorgeous, if not a bit too deep dish for my likings.
2. Horrible, design & colour.
3. Get rid of the "H" in the middle & you've got a pretty nice set there.

I think more then the number of spokes the first wheel has would be too many IMO. My favourite wheels are Volk Rays in the same colour as the first wheel OP posted. 6 spokes, good number.
