Wikipedia cites the first as the Koenigsegg CCR in 2004

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_automotive_su...

The Aston Martin Virage was twin supercharged in 1992, clearly well before...

Can anyone think of any earlier?

Apparently Shelby made a twinned Cobra as his own car, then made another for Bill Paxton which was destroyed. 1966 though.

Does it?

first twin-supercharged car — Aston Martin Vantage (Virage) 1992
Are we looking at the same page? If my Firefox search is working right it doesn't say Virage anywhere, definitely says CCR for first Twin-supercharged car.

ETA: Just changed on my browser with a refresh, someone's updated the Wiki!

Fixed now, I've also sorted the link to the actual Virage page, rather than the typical red link.

Was it set up parallel? One supercharger per bank and were they centrifugal?

Thanks. Not enough arsed to Google smile

Twin positive displacement superchargers. Couldn't have been cheap.

The Koenigsegg uses 2 Rotrex units (centrifugal) the vantage was 2 roots style blowers, one each side of the engine.

Both use a common plenum for both banks.

I says the first Gas Turbine car was a 1962 Chrysler ?

I would say the Jet 1 Rover in 1950 trumps that a little.
