Im looking for some cheap rear tyres for my e46.

I've managed to find some new 255/35/18/w's for £65.00 delievered, each (mytyres.co.uk).

I can only imagine they are made from used condoms and paper mache at that price, but hey, if it's legal, it's all good.

Note: I dont need the lectures on stopping distance/wet weather driving/roundabouts/the world blowing up because i'm not looking at £700 Pirelli supergrip gold plated maxi platinum XL's.

You, sir, are a tit. Cheap tyres are a false economy, would you fit the cheapest possible brake pads as well?

Sunny tyres on an E46.

Part worn. Tenner each fitted and balanced. This was about 6 years ago. I now get part worns for 15quid. Bloody inflation!

I thought £55 fitted for Uniroyal Rainsport 2's in 195/50/15 was pretty good.

I'd do that too. But all in all I drive pretty smooth and change cars often so only changed brake pads twice in ten years of driving.

I dont fit any brake pads. I find the caliper grips onto the disc just as well.

I once bought 6 wheels with tyres fitted for my MX5 for £20 the lot.

As for new tyres it's probably £30ish for some Toyos, but then tyres are cheap in 185/60R14.

When I had a Mini in the early 80s discount tyres were around £12 a corner. But I used to splash out on Dunlops for about £17. That's me...spend spend spend!

Been there, when I was running around in sheds, cheapest was best!

255/45 ZR17, Ditchfinders, £60 each fitted
255/40 ZR18, Ditchfinders, £55 each fitted (these were truely horrendous, even for ditchfinders, replaced two weeks later with a pair of Falkens..

Got to admit, I've never been one to buy expensive tyres, since I always thought, well, they can't be dangerous if they're legal.. until recently, I love having Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on my Audi, when I got a puncture, I replaced two fronts with brand new Michelin's dispite the price.

My best was 2x part worn Michelin Pilot Exaltos, 195/45/16 (or whatever size it is a Clio 182 takes), for £40 fitted (they both had 5+ mm of tread, too!).

£60 for a set of immaculate 15" OEM BBS alloys for my E34 which came with 4 dunlops. The tyres weren't very good though, probably because they were only about a year younger than I am!
I replaced them with a set of 4 barely used (I measured them- 7mm+) Falkens for £100.

Motorway 155R13 @ £9 each. With tubes and fitting I think the total was around £50 for four. Didn't bother with balancing as the wheels were 50p shaped (hence the tubes) and I wasn't planning to go over 50mph in the car hehe.

I think it was around £35 a corner for New Continental Eco Contact 3 155/70/13

I wouldn't buy cheap tyres.

I bought some sunew for my M3 purely because they were the absolute cheapest in the size. I needed to discount old tyres being flat spotted as there was a fault with the car.
They got binned pretty much that day!

£15 per tyre, plus a fiver to the supplier, so £65 in total and £16 to fit and balance then, with me disposing of my own waste.

This was probably 1999-2000 and they were quite impressive Kuhmos in 175/70/14 to suit a diesel BX.

Got a set of four Falken 145/80/10 for £150 brand new.

Flippin' 10" tyres cost a fortune.
