1945 Swiss Army Bike

Pal of mine worked in Zurich a number of years ago and bought himself one of the above for dodging around on and is now looking to offload it (both he and the bike are in the UK).

I had suggested the usual Gumtree/evilBay route without knowing what the bike was but it turns out to be a mint version of the following:-

A quick search on evilBay shows some at ridiculous monies (CHF1700!).

He's not looking to rip anyones arm out their sockets when selling it but similarly doesn't want to sell it for £50 if there is someone prepared to pay £250 if that is genuinely what it is worth.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where best advertise something like this for sale?

Nope, you cannot open a bottle of Pinot Gris with this bike.

But you could survive forever on the mean streets of a UK city.

That looks like the ultimate urban bike to me. Especially reaching for that pistol holder when that black cab gets a bit too close...

Sounds like auction material. eBay could be good enough, but how about getting in touch with an auction house and see if theres a market?

With the current cutbacks, just before I left the Army we were tasked with developing new, low cost, combat vehicles for the 21st Century Army.

Further development, in conjunction with the RAPTC, is expected, in the longer term, to lead to a 'Medium Mobility' version employing a Tandem Tricycle as the tractor unit, and featuring a trailer with a bench seat for the gunner, with under-seat ammunition storage, full 26inch wheels, and Maxxis High Roller tyres all around.
