Hi guys
i sent the alarm brain away to Abacus alarms in London and had it checked and 2 new key fobs programmed in. Also purchased a new alarm siren as my old one was knackered!

A big thumbup for this company for a very quick same day turnaround service.

Anyway everything is back together and i have been testing it and all works fine but without disclosing too much on an open forum, can the sensetivity of the interior sensors be adjusted. If so how and where. [answers by email only please]

The reason why i ask..........

The car was in the garage and i set the alarm. I left it like this for a few hours or so, part of my testing it, just in case there were any false alarms, but everything was fine, right up until the moment i lifted the up and over garage door. The movement of this, which was right above the rear plastic window, was enough to trigger the internal sensor and set the alarm off.

Reset the alarm and plenty of arm waving thru the windscreen and side windows had no effect [apart from me looking like a right plonker!]
Arm waving at the rear plastic window was enough to trigger the alarm.
My movement must be being picked up by the interior sensor/sensors.

I rarely used the alarm before as i had only one key fob which was a bit hit and miss in its operation.

Have to say mine does exactly the same. I wonder if its te frequency of the noise of the door on the sensor or something daft?!

I thought if you "plipped" it twice or some combination of "plipps" that the microwave sensor was deactivated - in case you parked with the roof off and alarm on???

How did you wire the new siren in? When I bought my car 10 years ago the siren had been disconnected, the wiring to the siren seems to be missing, I'm assuming the wiring runs along the inside of the nearside wing? I understand that the replacement siren needs some additional wiring, is that right or wrong?

Your correct there is a way of disarming the interior sensors, but i just wondered if their sesnsitivity could be adjusted.

I'd like to know if the sensitivity can be reduced as well. Mine lives outside under a cover, and the alarm often activates when it's very windy and/or raining hard. I often have to unlock it.

The alarm works well though. I'm always impressed when leaving it parked with the roof down: the alarm doesn't get fooled by wind, but if you just reach down into the cabin it goes off immediately.

Spoke to the very helpful guy at Abacus today, and the way my car is set, is quite normal for a TVR. The sensor does have adjustment but i will see how things go this summer [car is sorned at the mo].
