Have been mulling over getting the PSS9 shockers/springs kit for my car as she's done 50kmiles on the OEM set-up and is definitely a bit crashy and wallowy. Have searched this forum for comments on the PSS9 and not had much joy in finding out how appropriate it is for majority road use.

On the Rennlist forums I did find a US owner saying that he got a better ride with the PSS9s than the OEM set-up, even over broken surfaces.

I would appreciate any feedback from people who have fitted the PSS9 set-up.

Do you consider it too stiff for the road (this is a function of the springs I suppose, as the shock absorbers are adjustable)?

I was considering the non-PSS9 Bilstein setup, the non adjustable ones for the road. Would liek to hear some comments on those. Would it be appropriate to replace the springs (to same as before) after 40-50k miles aswell?

Have a look at this thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=48&h=&t=120007

I went with the Bilstein HD's. For road use they're a big improvement over the knackered OEM setup. I don't plan to use the car on the track.

On some fast roads with undulations I can see where more dampening that the HD's can provide would help. But 95% of the time on the road they're just the ticket.

Thanks Phelix - had already had a read of that thread! Have been doing more digging since I started this thread and saw that the americans on the Rennlist forum are completely converted to the PSS9 set-up and don't consider it to be a liability for road use.

With the idea that I'd like to start going to the odd track day with the local Porsche club I have now ordered the PSS9 set up (and a front protection bar) from Gert. Will report back with an opinion when I've fitted it and had the wheel alignment done!

Hopefully this is not the beginning of the slippery modification slope...rather a plateau!

Hello Nel

I'm keen to see how you get on. I'm also stuck between the PSS9's and the HD's. This will be my next mod once the new turbos are on the car (mid October)

The advantage with the pss9 is that they are adjustable,,you can easily stiffen things up for a track day then re-adjust them to be compliant for B roads...enough people use these to give you an idea to the number of clicks they use for each discipline.

I have been mulling over this very same thing and had decided that the PSS9 was overkill for me.

How do the HD's perform and are these the best option against other manufacturers and would they work with the Porsche M033 springs?
