Question I always ask. Does it have to be newish? As in is there a reason beyond wanting new that it must be newish?

I say this as £30k could buy one heck of a lot of car should you want it too.

You have an X5 listed, so are you considering 4x4's?

Is LHD an option?

Easy: the new F10 530d can still be had as a manual. This MSport one is two years old and has 33k on the clock and a nice spec and is up for £25,990:

Otherwise, does it need to 5series-sized? Or an estate? Or a diesel?

The latest 3-series (F30) can be had in 335i guise with a manual gearbox, but only as a saloon.

The pre-facelift version of the current Audi S4 has a supercharged 3.0 V6 and can be had with a manual gearbox. As can the 3.0 TDi version of the current A6.

Buy one of the ex-Olympic ActiveHybrid5's from the BMW AUC site. They are £30k, fully loaded and have 340bhp. Most are 2k miles and 9 months old.

Absolute bargains.

It falls down on the 3 litre part (I presume that's something you'd like?) but that aside, the S/V60s, V70 and S80 are available with manuals for all bar the T6 editions (auto and 4WD only). 2.4 D5 with 6sp manual to sirs liking?
