I am now finished work having taken redundancy so we can move back down Gatwick way, away from Cambs. So I have been tinkering with the car especially the engine bay as the interior is just about sorted. I have fitted S/S braiding to some hoses generally cleaned it up and painted the accessible rocker cover. I will be doing the other rocker cover tomorrow hopefully. I also painted the brake calipers red and next is chassis treatment/paint before the winter sets in, what do you think so far?

Very nice Mike!

The braided ducting should help reduce those induction temperatures.

How's the blower now, making a difference?

Looks good

I think you should send me some pics to put on your web page

Then you can help me paint my chassis and remove the dash

I am planning to send you a whole new set of pics now the car is completely different from the pics on your site!! Just need to get the final shiny bits from Lee and I will send the new pics.

As for the other things, if you lived closer..........!! But the dash is a major job Colin, I just paid Offords to remove mine when I had the retrim done, cost about £200 IIRC, which is 5 hours??? Good luck.

Gatwicks not far, you visiting on Sunday?

I assume the 5 hours is for the whole dash not just the dash panel

P.S does your engine number end with a G

Not visiting this weekend unfortunately, would have liked to pop over to the open day!

Yes the 5 hours was for the whole dash, taking out and putting back in again.

Yes my engine number ends in a G..........Why?

Dave it probably does as mine is bog standard

Mike according to Dom some of the engines ending with "G" were 4.3l.These would have been crossbolted, so check if yours is crossbolted

Very nice Mike, far too much time on your hands there . Obviously have been looking at Andy's too long and think all V8S's should be that shiny .
Colin re the 'G' suffix to teh engine serial number. Mike has already spoken to Dom AFAIK and apart from 'gas flowing' is pretty standard.
