Which Countries In Europe Don't Allow 'Noisy' TVR's?

Per the thread title.

Thinking of jumping back into TVR ownership and then doing a Euro trip which'll include:

France
Germany
Switzerland
Austria
Italy

Haven't decided which TVR to buy yet (probably a Cerb/Tuscan) but it'll undoubtedly be a loud one. Carbon Cans or De-catted or Straight Through Exhaust etc etc etc.

I understand the Swiss will turn you back at the border - is this true? Are there any other countries that its likely to be an issue with were I to pull up at the border ready to enter their country?

I've ridden a very noisy bike through all of those countries and of all the Swiss stopped me at the border and insisted
I fitted the baffles to my exhaust, fortunately I had them tucked under my seat.
Once fitted I was allowed to continue my journey.
Be warned the French have very strict speeding laws, one of our group received a 700 Euro fine and lost his licence on the
Spot!

The nice man at the Swiss border waved me through worh a big grin on his face and mine is more or less as loud as any TVR.

No problems elsewhere either.

No problems with mine (measured at 105 db)going into Switzerland or any of the other countries mentioned. The Italians got a bit upset when I had to sit outside a shop with the engine running for about 10 minutes but no officials involved!!!

You will not be stopped at the borders between France, Gemany, Austria and Italy.
The borders are usually not manned, EC for you.

Also no problems with TVRs.
If yours is very loud take it a bit easier in populated areas.
Be warned, if it is extremely loud.
Because they use rolling test facilities on the known biker roads for instant
tests, especially noise level.
The fines are not cracy, but they may take your numberplates to stop you from driving further.
You maybe can tell them everything is fine with your car/bike and it complies to british standards.
But do not think the officers are stupid, especially if its decated or you have straight through exhausts.

I have never felt very happy in Switzerland. Quite some people were not very happy with the TVR-noise there.
Speedlimit is only 50mph and fines for speeding are really cracy .

How can you loose a UK licence in France ..When the eastern europeans get away with speeding and all sorts of offenses , if they do they don`t get points !

Take a pair of these to be safe .

The reason is the law in Briton is soft just look at how the courts deal with rapists/murders/kiddie fiddlers the French police will just take your licence off you simples
