Hi All,

GT3's battery is completely dead, I've got an optimate on to try and recharge it but I have a better/great big battery charger I want to hook up the battery to try and rescue the battery properly.

However I cant get into the boot or bonnet compartment, is there a pullstring or anything where these can be accessed from? (the manual is locked in the bonnet)

Many thanks,
BJ

Connect a spare battery (via jump leads or similar) to the terminal in the fuse box (in the footwell) and earth to door catch or similar.

This gives enough power to open the bonnet, and access the battery. smile

There is also a manual override somewhere, a pull string, never actually found it though

nearside front wheel arch
good luck in finding it though !
I moved mine to the most accessible position possible when I had the opportunity - hope I don't need it though;
Mk1 doesn't have the 12V boost feed in to the fuse box - it's all mechanical, though it can be overcome...

nonoSome Mk1s have the electric release and 12v feed in the fuse box.

I should know - mine is a late Mk1 with some Mk2 features (electric releases, alcantara headlining etc.). smile
