What is it with these people ? Driving in snow is bad enough but looking at someone's rear fogs in the snow is a pain in the arse. The slightest bit of rain and these morons also do the same....I'm fed up with it
Also while I'm at it, when did the I'm joining a motorway/dual carriageway so I'll just put my indicator on and join happen? I've noticed this in the last 5 years does no one look anymore ? Did the highway code change ? Are they too fat to have a quick look over their shoulder ?

Any more ?

Yeh, I hate it when Johnny-come-latelies register with well established forums and then start moaning about the classification of discussion areas. Even worse, when they get no joy from the inhabitants they go and moan to the mods.

Boils my piss right up.

I'm no Johnny come lately, I was on here before it was sold to Haymarket. ( I can guess what you'll write now )
So what you are saying is that no one is allowed to join who has an opinion ?
I didn't complain to the mods and so what if i did ? I wrote on another discussion or are we only to post on here ?

Cool down slickmouse. FWIW ,I hate these light switching morons as much as those that don't put some lights on in bad weather .Today, it's your turn to get flamed . Might be mine tomowrrow - or someone elses next day . Ignore, turn the other cheek and feel good .

Surely they're supposed to be used in times of poor visibility rather than specifically being for use only in fog?

highway code said:
You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves.
Law RVLR regs 25 & 27
Seriously reduced, not just a bit of light mist or some rain. I'm with the OP on this one.

Silver car, light rain, spray from tires obscures car from those following. I think rear fog light is prudent even if the conditions are otherwise ok, don't you?

But yeah, leaving it on despite conditions improving and/or driving around with the front fogs on regardless of the weather/time of day? They'll be first against the wall come the revolution....

Nope, front fogs I don't mind. They're pretty dim and low, the rears I hate. Conditions are rarely bad enough to need them, light spray doesn't obscure normal rear lights and the colour of your car makes no difference.

No , and Thrice No. Normal rear lights is plenty. If you can't see them in all but the worst pea souper, you are either blind or facing the wrong fking way.

I shall endeavor to find some photo evidence of the nothingness that is one of the many silver commuter boxes that disappear into a fug of silvery road spray and barely discernable shapes the next time I'm out in the rain then. Shouldn't take long.

Rear fogs are an annoyance.
Its the rsoles on the M8 in the rain and dark who put sidelights on when they left the office and because they have pretty dashboard lights they think the 5 watt torches they have on is headlights.
In rain and spray these ejits are almodt invisible in the mirrors.

Probably due to the potholes but the number of cars running around with one headlamp or huge misalignment does not help.

Rear fogs are made worse in rain since they reflect on the wet road. I'm with the OP on this. And if I can add to this, peeps who sit at traffic lights with their brake lights and indicators on dazzling the driver behind.
Use your handbrake and follow recommendations on indicators, use indicator to show your intentions as you approach the junction, if lights are red cancel indicators then use them again when lights change. Just common sense really, showing consideration to other road users, something you see little of these days.

including cyclsts who think they are indestructible

Good luck taking pictures of cars you can't see.
