It's still coming. Might be out sometime this decade by the looks of this official Sega trailer.

Looks great.

My only concern is that it's sega. It will either be amazing because its sega or a total let down because its sega... They seem pretty hit and miss on making decent games these days...

Sega are just the publisher, Gearbox have developed it. They did the Half-Life games, Brothers in Arms, Borderlands and Duke Nukem Forever (ok we'll forget DNF as it was rubbish) but the others were good.

Will it be hugely different to the Alien Vs Predator !?!? That was pretty poor (I was clever enough to buy it cheap though)

Sega (who have the licence) released that but it was developed by Rebellion, so it should be different.

Sorry but Valve did the Half-Life games in-house.

Right, just watched the trailer, the voice over is aaaaaaawful and those responsible should be shot, but the game itself looks great - lots of iconic Aliens hardware. Could be good, we'll have to wait and see.

Half-Life for PC. Gearbox and Valve did the add-ons for the PC version for Opposing Forces, Blue Shift. Gearbox did Half-Life for the Playstation on their own.

Ah right fair enough - I always think of Half-Life as being PC-centric and forgot they had a presence on the consoles too.

The funniest bit is the misunderstanding of sharp sticks.

"Pre-Purchase and receive S.H.A.R.P. Stick! As referenced by Hudson in Aliens™, the prototype sonic-harpoon artillery remote projectile (S.H.A.R.P.) rifle fires time-delayed, explosive-tipped darts that embed themselves into enemies or terrain."

"Hudson: We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks...
Apone: Knock it off, Hudson."

My only concern so far is that some of the alien animation is said to look a bit iffy when you actually see them in the light. I hope that is sorted out. Otherwise, I am really, really excited about this. I grew up obsessed with the series an it promises to deliver to hardcore fans like me.

Also, I hope the work on the new Brothers in Arms game is going well. I can't remember the name of it but it sounds good.

I was daft enough to buy the limited edition fancy-box version. idea

It was extremly limited indeed. furious

I thought it would be like the good old days of the PC version shoot

Here's hoping that this one will revert to smart-gun based xenomorph genocide with a smattering of motion detector pings...

Not falling for the pre-order BS this time, will pick it up for £20 in a few weeks after the invevitable price crash.

If you're on PC pre-order it here, £20 is the cheapest I've seen it and it activates on Steam. thumbup

Got that T-shirt too.

Will be waiting a couple weeks after release of this before deciding.

I so want this to be brilliant.....but from the reviews & comments I've read I am not getting my hopes up.

Looks pretty good, but I can't watch the trailer without thinking how horrible the voice over is - the only right person for that job would be Al Matthews surely? (though I'd forgive them for using Ronald Lee Ermey).

Still, might as well give it a go. After Borderlands I've a huge amount of faith in Gearbox's ability to put a good shooter together.

on the strength of this alone I have got it on pre order from steam. Just looks excellent and, unlike AVP, is has Co-op campaign.

I haven't been this excited since Dead Island and lets face it it couldn't be worse than that.

I'm a massive fan of the franchise, so will be getting it regardless. However, from the trailer, I'm not holding much hope for it. The voice is horrible, and the gameplay looks questionable.

Tactical multi-player trailer - no voice over biggrin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...

My only comment is a lack of visual atmosphere, it's too bright and too clean but I guess that's a console trailer.
