Discussion
Well, probably not, but I thought this was pretty interesting:

Looking at the wheels it's not really a car, is it?
It just looks like a small light aircraft with vertical take off ability.
Not sure on the size of it but looking at it compared to him i can't imagine it being fit for our roads.
A good idea for someone rich that wants an alternative to his Cessna but can't see it being any more than that.

This will never see the light of day imho. In 2008 I built an off road buggy with a(Fredom motors)Moller Rotary engine, for the purpose of demonstrating how good the Moller engine was.(How good i was told it was)
The demonstration was a complete disaster! Partly due to the fact I had ten days to mate engine to a Honda 600 gearbox & then into a secondhand buggy chassis and make it look pretty. So Absolutely no testing time was available until the morning of demo.
On the demo runs the engine would heat seize after a couple of runs, even though the motor was completely exsposed to the air flow (Aircooled unit)it was suffering from hot spots around the casing. It transpired that Paul had sent us one of his basic (un proven) rotary units Why??? I still don't undestand.
Originally we were supposed to have Fredom motors all singing & dancing billet 160hp twin rotary but ended up with a nasty little cast (ex snowmobile)unit, that i would say struggled to put down 30hp.....when it worked.
So the demo went down like a lead balloon and that was a shame as some very distinguished investors had come along. Many times over the 20 odd years of our dealing with Paul, he has scuppered possible deals by going public (like above link) before deal is signed off!
As far as the flying car goes.....He has higher skill levels than me. But some details i used to have problems with, were his insistance that the safety systems would make it safer than other forms of air travel. Like the onboard computers that would fly it without risk of human error. Or the Ballistic parachute that will save everyone no matter what (What about the dead zone on vtol?)
And his vision that one day most people would have a flying car to comute/play in.( I shudder at that thought)
Would be nice to see his dream become a reality soon, as he is no spring chicken & he is a nice guy but unless he can wipe clean all the deals & history this project has been subject to over the 30 or so years.....then i think he will fail.

Not soon, I think - he's been at it for 40 years, & I suspect if it was going to be successful, he'd have one on sale by now.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2268402/Fl...

Sadly methinks you're right, which is a shame. I rather like the Moller M200G.
Yep - last I heard he was in Chapter 11, having sunk millions into it. I like the idea & the engineering, but then I look at all the nuts on the road & look up, & think...hmmm, maybe not...I don't really like going in helicopters.. But still really like this : http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/pal-v-flying-car...
Maybe when a twin engine is out... (and I've won the lottery)
