Today I had to say goodbye to a faithful friend. It never let me down, and always kept on chugging along no matter what. It taught me to actually drive, instead of just know how to pass a test. I learnt how to look after something and mend it when it needed attention but most of all it gave me freedom to go wherever I wanted.
For everyone else, and probably anyone who reads this it's just a tired old shed that's tatty and uncool but it was my 1st car and I love it. Like every young driver I always aspired to a better faster car but I will be genuinely sad when I take my car to the scrap yard after all the good times I had in the 5 years I owned it.
It was just one MOT fail too many this time.

You were old, slow and noisy but you were mine. Goodbye P513KEW, I will miss you.

I can understand the sad/gheyness, the day which Keith my trusty E30 shed will be off to the scrapyard is getting closer & closer. Will be a sad day when that's gone

I bagged it all, which is why I now have up to 2k to spend on something else. I'm thinking something MX5 ish as I can insure one relatively cheaply and some good examples can be found for that much.

I don't know what you chaps get for scrapping them but people in the VW 'scene' will pay £250+ for a mechanically strong and complete Mk3 TDI. They'll swap the mechanicals and front brakes into an old Caddy. At least then part of your old car lives on!

I can relate to this frown my old Rover 214, think a pic is on my profile. Taught me to drive properly, and was my pride and joy. By the time I sold it there was more money in polish on the paintwork than the value of the car itself. I miss you JoJo frown

My advice is to keep a small memento to remember the car by. I kept the badges and the original number plates from mine. Seeing as yours is being carted off by the scrapman rather than sold, you can probably keep some bigger bits if you want.
