Yes, sort of done this a few times because it's so enjoyable and you get to experience so many different places.
My route was :
Calais
Bruges - Walk around old city, couple of churches, lunch and then drive to Brussels
Brussels - Dinner in Grand Place ('t Kelderke), next day Museum of Fine Art, evening drive to Cologne
Cologne - Cathedral and Chocolate museum
Bonn - Beethoven birthplace & museum
Wurzburg - Great little town with a beautiful palace to look at
Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Medieval town, picture postcard stuff
Augsburg - mainly an overnighter with a couple of interesting spots
Munich - Technology museum, beer halls, Dachau, Dome, market, BMW museum. 3 days here
Schwangau - Neuschwanstein Castle, another castle next door
Garmisch Partenkirchen - mainly overnighter
Innsbruck - Just walking around for a day
Verona - Day walking around, beautiful place, Roman arena, other Roman stuff, churches, Juliets balcony.
Milan - Duomo, Piazza, The Last Supper, Shopping
Lugano - Great place to chill out, walk around lake etc
Genoa - Overnight stop, before drive along coast

Done similar, and taken roughly this route:
Overnight near Verdun
Vosges
Black Forest
Lake Zurich
Fiesch - staying in hotel up the mountain only reachable by cable car
Lake Como - two nights
Mugello - mountains just north
Montepulciano
Pescara - would swerve this next time - bit of a dump - would have stayed an extra night in Tuscany if we'd realised this
Pompeii to see ruins - this was as far as we went as we got on a boat to Sicily that night - to Palermo
Then on way home we took a ferry from Palermo
to Genoa, staying overnight near Asti
then Lake Annecy
Beaune
Slightly different to yours but close - have fun
