Suzuki SX4 squeel

Wifes SX4 starts ok but when she pulls away there is a loud squeel from the engine area.
Obvious one is fan belt, other options I can think of are alternator bearings and water pump bearings.
Only happens when cold and only once. Local garage thinks belt, and that it is slack until the engine or mounting bracket warms and expands taking up the slack. Had it before on Suzuki motors apparently.
Anyone else suffered?
