You don't say if north /south or size of van . However on size, I'd tend to look at firms that will give you something other than a thirsty transit . might be an idea on a trip that distance to look at ENTERPRISE .Not the cheapest, but a nice large firm . But if you go with them, do it on line,it's cheaper . Book early ,and you might get choice of make .

I tried enterprise but unfortunately they wont hire vehicles to be used on the continent, im in Warwick so pretty central. Are transits quite thirsty?

Thirsty - Very. That's why I asked thev question . And why IO thought Enterprise mght be best,as they might cover a trip . I'd sugest the big boys then - Hertz etc. But stay away from anyhig FORD.

It's been at least a couple of years since I last hired a van, but I've used these guys a few times before, no issues at all and decent rates (back then anyway). Based just outside Hinckley so not a million miles away

There's very few van hire places that will let you take it abroad.

This is going back a few years but when I needed a van to move back to the UK from Germany I ended up hiring one from a small firm local to my parents as the big firms either wouldn't let their vehicles go to the continent or wanted to charge a fortune, so don't discount the smaller guys.

I have used Hallmark truck and van rental, based near Coleshill a couple of times, but I am not sure if they cover abroad

Good outfit, I have hired a car from them and gone to France, no idea on doing so with a van.

I've only just seen this so apologies for the resurrection.
Have you looked at http://www.xtrawheels.com/vanhire-and-vanrental.ht...

They have VW Transporters and are happy for them to be used in Europe, they are just off Cape Road in Warwick.
