I own a bit of a mystery engine??

The pink vixen is pinking. engine ran sweetly prior to me messing with timing etc, engine spec however is non standard. i have stripped head off engine and pistons are 60 thou oversize. A little hand written note on the tatty haynes manual that came with the car says "use 1600 pistons with 60 thou machined from crown. I have no idea what the cam is, but the compressions are 195, 175, 190, 190psi.

I do not know whether the engine is tuned or just skimmed in the head to cure past warpage. the bores etc are immaculate but I just do not know the spec of the engine.

Does anyone know what a standard GT vixen crossflow should give in terms of compression figures. also what does 190psi translate into in terms of ratio??

I do have a get out plan, in the form of a fast road engine from my other vixen which is going to morph into a griffith 400 replica over the next 6 months or so, but cannot help but feel that the original engine is just needing some timing work and ignition help due to non standard measurements. any ideas??

Neil.
