I went and had a look at a brand new Cayenne yesterday (again) and will probably pull the trigger on it.

OPC is offering no discount on the car (not really surprised), crap money on my trade in (again, no surprise as they have always been tight) and full list price on extras (c £15k's worth).

Has anyone had any luck with discounts, extras etc, or am I stuck with list price and try and sell mine privately?

always managed to get discount from OPC's - on both new and second hand cars;
That's buying cash outright, or on trade in.
Be brutal, but pleasant; it works.

APRs have gone silly now its VW.
I remember the days when they would "work around the customer" under PFS.
No longer the case, so I was told.

I would guess there are discounts on the Hybrid, Petrol, or stock models - but the Diesels 'to order' are still in strong demand, so any discounts will probably be very limited.

Nevertheless, the OPC have failed if they have left you feeling undecided. A good salesman will have tried to present a postitive deal and left you so sold on the new Cayenne that you are counting the days to delivery.

Deals on Turbo from what I remember, none on Diesel as they sell anyway.

You won't get anything off a diesel, but look on the bright side, with demand outstripping supply, the residual value is epic!

You can get 1k of a diesel and you should get a little discount off options.

Try performance car finance for loan 7.9% all up

Great car

Thats why I'm looking at new. A 2yr old was still coming in at £45k, so made little sense

Hence why I'll pay cash rather than this. A sensible APR may sway this decision.

As for trade in, even "webuyanycar" was giving £2.5k more!

Is this a Norn Iron thing? Might you be able to get a better deal in Liverpool or Glasgow?

Yep. OPC is notoriously crap value. Glasgow/Liverpool etc all within shooting distance.

I'm in London 4 days per week, 200m from another OPC so may drop in and see

It's a line - not true - based on personal experience.

Chatting to someone who got 3% off a factory order diesel yesterday. Any dealer should be able to get you deal at around 8%apr, just need to haggle harder.

Make some phone calls, tell them you're going to order today; any decent salesman should get you a deal if you show definite commitment to order.

I suspect that the OPs OPC feels that they have a captive market and that they neednt move on price to secure orders.

Ring around a few OPCs..you needn't necessarily go in, and they needn't be too close to you, I am sure one of the centres you call will help you get a better deal, Just be frank with them, tell them what you have been offerred, and where it would have to be to take your deposit.

Agreed - except you can get a lot lower than 8% - get a strong competitive offer and you will be quids in. Order at month end - preferably last day of month, or last day of quarter (although if it has been a good quarter that won't work so well).
