Just trying to confirm if a 1998 Mk2 MX5 RS was really 160bhp? or is it actually just 145bhp?

Pretty sure its the same 140bhp but with a 6 speed box. POwer may be up slightly but definitely not 160bhp.

Thanks for the confirmation, I am also guessing it would not have the bigger 270mm brakes?

The bigger brakes were only fitted to Mk2.5 Sport and some Mk2.5 special editions so no, a Mk2 RS will have standard 1.8 255mm discs.

They do but you'll need the discs, carriers and callipers. In practise the standard 1.8 discs are fine anyway so I wouldn't bother.

Mine probably just need a refresh then.
