Major new recall for 2010 GT3RS centre locks in the US
Discussion
I had the original recall done on my RS but there is a new, and larger one coming. The big news is that it also has a much more rigorous and very expensive maintenance schedule. Takes a couple of days in the dealer to complete.
Full details are on Rennlist in the 997 GT3/GT3 section. Sounds depressing. Has this shown up in the UK?

I must have missed it. The US letter to owners is new it seemsn(Jan 22 2013) also mentions much more stringent service intervals. The US news is still spotty but here is one of the posts on service intervals. BTW may only be GT3 for replacements but the new maintenance schedule is for all CLs. .For some reason cannot post a link but its the first item in the 997 GT3 section on the Rennlist forum, which also contains a PDF of the letter.
FROM RENNLIST..
'Awaiting written confirmation but I had a chat to the local dealer and its not pretty!
.
Components to be timed out as follows here apparently...
-a log book of track use to be kept (kms below refer to track use)
- rear hubs, bolts and bearings to be replaced after every 7000kms
- rear bearing housings, front hubs, bolts and bearings after every 14000kms
- front bearing housings every 28000kms
Apparently, by the time the RSs came to market, the hubs had been revised... This affects cars built before 04/10... The maintenance schedule will apply to all...
Awaiting mail out to confirm all of this so take it with a grain of salt for the moment...
Ching, ching!!!"
