Artificial tears and optrex type stuff - any difference?

I've got dry eyes thanks to chemo (oral Xeloda if that makes a difference) and have had artificail tears suggested. Sounds silly but I've got to go to the chemist for them - will the optrex stuff from Tescos do the trick the same or am I better not being lazy? In justification (slight!) I'm stuck in a wheelchair to go out any distance so it does make a difference!!

The Optrex stuff is more expensive than the generic artificial tears.(More than twice the price).

You can get the artificla tears from most pharmacies including the Tesco one.

Almost all chemists will do home delivery - a few will ask the GP to confirm that you would benefit from it, lots round here will just do it if you call and explain why. Seems silly to spend energy on something you really can delegate to someone else. I'm far from housebound and actually in really good health at the moment but getting to the chemist in my powerchair is slightly too much hard work - I've got lots going on at the moment (just restarted my OU degree) and with loads of meds needing re-ordering and such at different times I'd be there about three times a week if they didn't deliver. The service is there and funded - use it!
