Have recently bought taken delivery of an S2 Exige which I plan to track quite heavily. What changes would you recommend I carry out before taking to the track? Main thought is regarding the brakes........any suggested recommendations on a suitable set up (Pagids etc?)

If anyone is interested, a few pics of the car can be seen at http://community.webshots.com/user/topboss20

After driving my friends, To be honest, they are pretty sorted as std ! ...maybe try Pagid RS42s - thats about all I can think of. Has the Exige got the twin oil coolers like the US 111R?

Only if you specify the 'performance pack' IIRC

I've got the touring pack on mine. Was told an additional oil cooler could be fitted but would be expensive and not really cost effective.

mmmm...for track use Id recommend as much oil cooling as you can get....at least get a gauge fitted so you can scare yourself after 4 laps when its hitting 140deg+ !

If its just got the one, Id get an aux gauge pod and oil pressure/temp gauages - at least you can keep an eye on it...it also makes you more aware during road use, not to thrash the car just because the Stack is telling you the water is up tto 80deg etc - the oil generally takes another 5-10mins or so to get up to temp after that.

Oil temp/oil pressure gauge(s) will be fitted for sure. I always give the car a good 4/5 miles after the water temp is upto 80 odd degrees before giving it any stick.........amazes me how many people still simply go by water temp'. I think the 4/5 mile rule gives the car plenty of time to get warmed up (engine and drivetrain etc).

Anyone else been out on track in theres' yet........any compariable cars?

Interesting snippet in autocar this week (I think) that the secondary oil coolers are going to be fitted as standard in the UK now in all Elises. They were always standard in the US, and I always thought it might be an economy too far in the UK market (Before I cancelled my S2 Exige deposit I was getting it priced up by the dealer as I wanted a cross between the two packs). I'd speak to your dealer regarding this...

Pagid pads would be worthwhile, potentially braided lines. Apart from that I'd say you are all set.

Very nice 'boss.

Interesting points made on how long to wait before you tear its bollocks off... I generally give it until I've been over 80deg on the stack for a good five mins before it sees the naughty side of 3-4k rpm.

Whenever I get the chance I let it warm up while I'm getting ready so it's upto temp before we start.
