So - help me come up with a boat...

A bit of an odd question I know.

The Titanic hit something (an iceburg of course), started taking on water and, as we all know, eventually sank.

I'm looking for a famous boat that hit something, started taking on water and with a bit of luck and, quite possibly, divine intervention, was saved. Nothing immediately jumps to the front of my mind...but my nautical history isn't what it should be!

Yes, owned by the old boy who founded Moonraker. It was his very last trip before he sold the boat. It took a bit of work to get it back to nice.

Nothing wrong with the new one, it's Shackleton's being quoted.

The new one did have a little sinking a few years ago, screw-up in the engineroom.

I was also on battleaxe when during a stint in Portland we had an "altercation" with a german Sub, resulting in the Sub taking on water and surviving, nothing about it on Wikipedia though.

Little google searching tells me she is currently sat in slip 3 at Portsmouth Naval Base awaiting a decision about her, they have hired a Norwegian icebreaker in the mean time, but the current boat doesn't have ROV's onboard. Picture on google of her tied up with the Ark behind her.

At lest I remember another Moonraker In a similar position!
