I recently tried to get some parts from Emsworth cycles but was told that they were running down their supplies and not replacing stock.
Clearly the emphasis of many businesses changes with time and I thought that perhaps now would be a good time for a list of fresh suppliers to the Jago world to be collated.
If every reader sent in a name and a contact point of a firm they'd had successful/helpful dealings with it would benefit many, especially more recent new owners.
To start the ball rolling I would offer the following firms:
www.yorkshirerallysupplies.co.uk
run by Pete Stansfield who has huge stocks of mechanical parts andis cheapest known supplier of rally mudflap material-we have just received 4 metres enough to do 2 cars [and help those floors to last.] He does a bulk rate which might benefit groups who meet up.

www.cumbriarallyspares.com
good source of mechanical running gear as they turn over quite a few vehicles [metaphorically speaking of course]

www.rallyusedparts.co.uk
all sorts of bits to make your Jago handle like a white van rather than a bread van

www.nfauto.co.uk
good deals on consumables esp at shows

Not sure if the buying power of the Jago Owners would warrant discounts beyond those obtained by any other marque but if it became evident that lots of us are using the same few firms it might improve the case!

Offered earlier on older thread:
Another very good one for the list is www.superflex.co.uk
for all your nylon or other bush needs, in particular suspension and steering, also quite a few other parts in stock new and refurb - specialises in early Ford and Triumph.
Prop is Chris Wittor, very helpfull bloke
check out his site, you will be amazed at just what he stocks.
His recommendation for anything he has not got in stock is "The Avo owners club" contact is John Seth 01482 875656, Chris tells me they have everything that Harwoods could not get!

One I`ve mentioned b4 is www.trackstore.co.uk for wheel spacers, wheelnuts and electrical items as well as the usual suspension items, and www.tyresdirect.co.uk for remoulds both m&s and road biased.

I will update the page on the technical site with the companies being suggested on this topic if you think that will be helpful to other folks.

For poly bushes try Deflex instead of superflex. They seem to be much cheaper and are British made. Can't give a web address but they are usually to be found in the back pages of Classic Ford.

Check out www.deflex.co.uk

They have an online shopping page and it looks like a complete set of front suspension bushes, rack mounts, rear spring bushes and spring pads comes to only £49.40 including VAT then add £4.00 for shipping.

That's not a lot to pay to transform the handling and put off an MOT failure indefinitely.

Cheers

I've had dealing with Classic Ford Parts - always good service, prompt delivery and very knowledgeable about Mk1 escorts. A few times I've asked for a part, and I've not known what year it's from (my Jago is a mish-mash of cars) and he tells me exactly what to measure to identify the component type.

Can I please ditto what Mad Ax has said..... I was in desperate need of a part for my previous Jago and stumbled across the above's advert. The guy that owns the company is 100% genuine...His name is Paul and just happens to be an old friend of mine who I lost contact with from the 70's!! (next time anyone speaks to him remind him of his old MKI Escort with the Chevy V8)

Hi lads and lassies

At last I have found 5 minutes to put all the above contacts onto the "Escort Parts Suppliers" page on the technical web site.
This should make it easier to find them rather than have to trawl through a pile of messages trying to remember what the topic title was.

So any more contact details you can find out let us all know here and if possible I will get them listed on the page as well.

Cheers

So there I was today fettling the jeep for Stoneleigh (NB but NOT cleaning it- we're off-roaders) unseizing a brake adjuster and I decided to renew the rear brake shoes. Found the set I'd bought years ago at the All Ford Rally in Abingdon (on the last Sunday in September every year)and a piece of paper with the supplier's details fell out:

Classic Brake Shoe & Filter Co
350 Clay Lane
South Yardley
Birmingham. B26 1ES
0121 707 1188

Of course, if I'd had a slide hammer I could have swapped the diff...
