Just wondering if anybody knows of any good BBQ places in the UK. Preferably as near to Wilts as possible.
I'm thinking of the sort of place you see on Man Vs Food where stuff is cooked in a pit/ smoker not just flame grilled like a Harvester.

Don't know anything your way, sorry.

Bodeans in London, as mentioned. Also the Pitt Cue Co and Barbecoa.

The World's End in Brighton was/is well known for ribs, although I've not been there.

I've been to Barbecoa, that was excellent BBQ food. The restaurant overlooks St Pauls Cathedral.

PItt Cue Co is awesome, but schedule round the quieter times, can get very busy.

Worth going for the Pickleback alone smile

^^^ Still not had a chance to do pitt cue co but very much on the list.

I quite liked Hickory's Smokehouse in Chester (if you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods).

This, good food and the portions were ridiculous. Very man vs food IMHO.

Red dog saloon in London they even do challenges like on Man v Food. The hot wings challenge is 6 Naga covered wings and I have seen these make people very ill. The devastator challenge is 3x6oz burgers, bacon, pulled pork, chips, coleslaw and a large milk shake, all have to be consumed in 10 mins. Its very fun to watch.

Not all that close to Wiltshire . . .

The restaurant outlet is a hut at the Camber Docks in Portsmouth.

Forget the devastator challenge, do the hot wings one. I headed to RDS on my birthday but arrived 15min late of their serving time. As we went in a guy came running out with his face all pale, drenched in sweat he then threw up on the side of the road. One of the members of staff told us he only managed 2 wings.

Finishing at all is a challenge, there is so much meat it's unreal. I've been there a few times and seen a lot of people fail me included, I will do it next time though. I will be taking photos as proof smile

After watching my friend try and see the state of him for the next 24hrs there's no chance of me trying. The smell is enough to burn my face off laugh

Don't starve yourself. Have a small snack shortly before as this starts your system off. If you go in empty you fill up too quickly.
