Hello folks,

So about 10 days ago I notice a Police van North of Dundee, few miles North of the Kirriemuir junction (road after Battledykes turn off I think). It sat there every day, evening and night blocking the road, blue lights on. I drove that section three days in a row when it was parked there.

Today I see a Police 4x4 sitting at the same spot, blue lights going.

Now the inclement weather has more or less passed, roads are all ok, but can't think why the cops are doing this?

Have I missed something obvious?

(distinctly possible for me getmecoat)

Murder investigation or something like that where forensics are taking their sweet time in gathering evidence?

Mass murder? or more likely the chief constables wife was out walking their dog and lost an ear ring so now has half the force doing a finger tip search of the area to find it.

You could be onto something there, lets face it, when it comes to real crime, like car theft, as their colleagues up the road have proved, they do seem incompetent. Might as well do something with their time....

Maybe one of the officers is getting punished for bringing coffee which is too cold for everyone and now has to clean the road with a toothbrush for the month as punishment

Passed them last week - could have sworn there was a Peugeot tipper van in the field just past the junction, looked like it had come a cropper in the snow and just carried on into the field - but a couple of weeks is a hell of a long time to be watching over an RTA?

Was down to Dundee at 9am this tomorrow and back up tonight at about 5pm; both occasions spotted a police car (liveried Focus estate) in that very place. Seemed odd to have the lights flashing when resolutely not going anywhere...

I passed it twice today, is there any need for the headlights to be blinding all oncoming traffic?

S2red is correct with his link. The owner of those sheds from where he runs ScotSteel Sheds, hired out a shed to two lovely Glaswegian gentlemen. They told him they were looking to open a body shop for spraying cars etc.

But after a long while of not seeing any cars coming in and being asked to leave the power on over the Christmas and new year period he began to gat a bit curious, asked the guy who rents the shed and was basically told to mind his own business. So the owner had a look in anyway and found a mass cannabis cultivation factory.

Police now sit at the end of the road 24/7 cause he is under police protection and they need him in court as a witness.

This is all afaik but my dads shed was just built by these guys and was speaking to the boy who runs ScotSteel and was told the above. smile

Slightly off topic but a traffic unit was sitting on Wester Gourdie estate (the little road the takes you along the bottom of camperdown - passed the back of the petrol station. Sitting hiding in a junction at 5pm... Sneaky wink
