Series linked. It's probably the only cooking program I watch anymore.

Interested to see the Comic Relief elements, will they be injecting humour into their dishes?

I'd have thought it's a prerequisite.

I thought that too. I was surprised at the scores.

Don't like the new concept of this year! How you make dishes entertaining with out relying on props. New guy matt is up against 2 top chefs.

Heston has a few dishes where the wit isn't at the expense of the food itself. Egg & bacon ice cream (cracked and 'scrambled' at the table); Meat Fruit; Mock Turtle Soup. For every dish like that there's probably hundreds more that fall into the detractive gimmick trap.

Aiken's idea of presenting the chicken as an egg and the egg as a chicken was a decent concept.

Personally I'd rather throw away the themes and just watch the UK's best chefs cook their best food, but sadly that wouldn't cut it for most TV audiences.

Now set on record.

I'm glad they are countering the gimmicks - they were getting just too much in the last series.

I agree over 'restaurant food' as well - again over the last few seasons it's become more common. Some of the chef judges score down as a result, but then Pru, Matthew and Oliver would score the same dish highly.

I still enjoy the show and again it's one of the few cooking shows I still enjoy, but to me it's been going down hill over the 2-3 series before this one.

Thought matts dish was deserved more than 8 and the guy who came 2nd didn't meet the brief of entertaining food ok it may of tasted better than matt but that wasn't the brief. I'm sure it would of been tweaked and most would be happy to eat it.

Wearing is prejudging since the beginning the one chef. The brief is hard to work out what is funny for the red nose! Think he has missed it but other chef has done similar missed brief in previous weeks.

It's like one of those weird Japanese t shirts where random English words are thrown together.

Any chance of rearranging those words into a sentence Baron?

ok half alseep and typing on the tablet never good idea! what I was trying to say that Marcus Wearing is over the top in per-judging of chef Will Holland even before he is even cooked! The Brief for this year competition is a hard one to do with out going over the top style while keeping the tasting great in previous weeks some chefs weren't even funny dishes and weren't marked down. That said putting small tomatoes just to link it to red noses is rather weak to relate to Comic relief.
