So my Mrs is in a pickle - after 4 MINIs she wants a change

She's 26, and her previous cars are a couple of Fiestas and Kas, then a 51 Cooper, a mint 02 Cooper S, a Fabia vRS, a facelift 04 Cooper S, and the latest is a massively specced 57 Cooper S

She test drove a brand new Golf Edition 35, and loved it but it was just abit too much £

I work for Audi, and know aaaaall about the troublesome DSGs, so she's been looking at manual Golf Edition 30s

Wants are

Something bigger than a MINI, not opposed to 5 doors
Petrol ideally
Manual
Got to be sporty and relatively nippy, so no Corsa SXis etc!
No M3s etc, gotta be even just a bit girly

She's got up to £10k to spend

Having just sold my 2005 cooper s and moved to a Mk 5 golf gti, i couldnt recommend the progression enough. Similar power, a touch less driver focused, but more practial, comfier seats and an Edition 30 would be that bit better.

She could get a good one for £10k.

After getting mine back, I would suggest a Mazda 3 MPS however make sure you get a good one as the garage that sold me mine just found out how expensive they are when they break
