Full Carpet Refit in the South of England
Discussion
Hey folks,
I am taking my car to Dave the Trimmer tomorrow (29/01/13) to have new carpet fitted. I know all the usual suspects that people recommend but they're all so far north! I will take some before and after pictures and post them on here.
Dave has got some really good reviews and he has done a few Tuscans so my hopes are high.
Cheers all,
Sam

Definitely looking forward to some pics. I'm just waiting on final quotes before I look for mine to be done in a few weeks.
Out of interest, what colour are you going for and is he doing any other work at the same time?
Oi! I thought you were doing your own carpets, not paying someone else to fit them?! Out of interest, what colour are you going for and is he doing any other work at the same time?

Colour will be dark blue with lighter blue piping and a slight repair to drivers bolster. He really is a nice guy, I will keep all postedOut of interest, what colour are you going for and is he doing any other work at the same time?
Happy Sunny Saturday Afternoon,
I picked the car up this morning from Dave at Davethetrimmer and was blown away on two fronts. 1. By how good the work he has done is and 2. He did little bits I didn't ask him to do and didn't charge me!
I will explain; The carpet on the boot was hanging off, he sorted it, I only noticed this when I got home. He fitted new bolts for the seats, put the missing bung in the passenger foot well, re finished my 'average' attempt at recovering the small Targa panel lock and the wing mirror controls. He re shaped the seat bolsters and stitched up the drivers seat where it had came away at the seam... nothing to do with my body shape honest! Down in the footwell he finished the panel where your foot rests when not on the clutch in matching leather... I am sure I am forgetting somethings!
Pictures to follow of course, I can not speak highly enough of him, the whole job was done in 3 working days, this includes drying the passenger side foot well 'pre-bung'. The quality is 10 times that of standard and as good as I have seen.
If you live anywhere within 250 miles this is the place to go, cheers Dave!

Finally got some pictures, they are not great and do no justice to the transformation of the cars interior. I covered the door panels, targa panels and speaker pillars myself and Dave re covered the targa hinge part and wing mirror control unit on the drivers door. My effort was ok but I wanted it better. I went with dark carpets and light binding because it fits the exterior colour well and the Alcantara is a nice shade which really lifts the interior. I wanted OEM look with better quality finish.

Looks great, I too would be interested in how much you paid, especially as I live in Wellingborough just 20mins away for me. Your door cards look good too, what colour is the Alcantara and where did you get that from. This is something I would like to have a crack at myself, ie door cards, speaker post and targa roof, like you I am not sure about the whole carpet set. Just transforms the car!
