Guys

I understand the 10th gen Pioneer has a seperate media box containing the TV tuners. If I am using Sky digital as my source do I need this media box or can I connect the HDMI from the Sky decoder directly to the panel?

As I thought, thanks.

As an alternative to the Pioneer, how about a Panasonic 50VT30? What level of improvement would I see over my existing 5th Gen Pioneer?

Exellent, one person says one thing, and someone else the exact opposite.

Is it possible that there are 2 forms of this TV, one with a media box and another with direct connectivity?

I used to sell these and currently use the KRP-600A, from memory, it was a few years ago now, there were in fact 2 models, the M and the A, the M stood for Monitor and you fed direct into the screen, I don't think it had a tuner, but it didn't have so many inputs, the A had the separate media box with more inputs and the analogue and digital tuners.

Hope this helps.
