Washing Car in the Rain

If the car needs washing (badly) and it's raining, I get out there and do it.
I don't bother drying it with the chamois for obvious reasons
The car being absolutely saturated for a reasonable amount of time before you clean it makes the whole job easier.
I'm not really a car cleaning kind of person, but how can your car need washing so badly you would go out in the rain to wash it?I don't bother drying it with the chamois for obvious reasons

My cars don't get washed at all between October - May because it's too cold. I don't think that is the typical PH stance though.
Done this many times myself. As others have said,if it just needs a quick wash it saves drying it as the rain wil wash away the tap water leaving it with a perfect finnish. The tap water near me is very hard and if you dont dry the car after washing it can be left looking worse than before you washed it!
Washing it in the rain prevents this. Not as crazy as it seems,if you dont mind getting wet.

I do it a fair bit. If anything it's better washing it in the rain as the rain water is essentially 'distilled' unlike tap water which leaves smears/ marks if not removed properly /obsessivedetailinggeekmode
As long as the rain water is actually clean, never is where I live.I've been know to do mine in the rain too.
With time short and so much rain atm if it's filthy I’ll want it washed.
The sane (well sort of!) reasoning being, the dirt has had a pre-soak so comes off easier and the rain prevents any water streaks.
Might seem mad but you can get a sparkling car in half the time. Just don't take it straight out for a drive on wet roads or you've wasted your time!
