On the way home from work I decided to pay some taxes and also get some free dino-juice for my trouble.

Pulling into the forecourt, the only pump free is to the right of a silver Mercedes.

For some reason, Mr Merc is filling up while holding his driver's door wide open, preventing me from pulling up along side. I wait a few moments, assuming no one would be such an inconsiderate tt on purpose but eventually get bored and rev my engine a little bit.

Cue Merc Man honking his horn for several seconds (using his foot) and blowing his top at the fellow inside the shop. He then barges into said shop, giving me a chance to get to the pump after he slammed his door shut.

I'm now opening my tank when he storms back onto the forecourt, glares at me like I'd just called his sister a and proceeds to tear out of the petrol station at warp 9.

My only guess is the guy in the shop didn't enable the pump because he realised Herr Benz was being a knobber confused

Any of you other bros got a cool story?

I hate censoredheads using pumps to park when they have spaces for people using the shop.

I hate people who moan about people who take too long at the pump. I fill my car from pretty much empty, get some bits n bobs from the shop then write down my odometre reading once i get back into the car. I don't care if I take 10 minutes doing this, im spending £70 on 60litres of liquid, i'll take my time, so stop honking your horn and flashing your lights!

I understand your point of view but would it be too much trouble to pull out of the way to let others use the pump before you pay? You could then spend as long as you like doing other admin safe in the knowledge you are doing your part to help others.

I used to work in a petrol station so saw some of this. It was in a university town and funnily enough the most troublesome were a selection of female professors. One parked her car in the middle of the adjacent car park access road and went shopping, she was made to move it but seemed baffled as to why.

But one afternoon a decrepit Rover entered the forecourt through the exit road, in reverse. It staggered over to one of the pumps and stopped to reveal wing mirrors held on with tape. Another, completely different, lady lecturer filled it and came to me. The station was exceptionally busy that day and we had a line of cars at the entrance that would rival a Baghdad oil shortage.

Anyway she paid and parted stating "I don't know why all those people are queuing up over there"

On another occasion I saw an old man pull away with a completely flat tyre. I was outside so ran over and alerted him. He said "I know, it will be fine" and drive off.

Can you please also process your 20 lines of lottery tickets and then order , one by one, at least 8 differently numbered scratch cards..
Then feel free to scratch the potentionally winning cards at your leisure in front of a que of 18 people who need to get to work........to pay for your benefits/pension

Guy had his door open, Till guy probably thought he was going to drive off without paying so did not enable pump until door was shut? Guy refused to shut car door and gets annoyed?

Don`t think the replies to this went to plan.

This is why I use the local `petrol station`, not the Tossco express, there is always some bint/tool who decides to do the weekly shop at 6pm while leaving the car on the pump for 20 minutes.

Depends on the car, took me 30 minutes to get 55 litres in tonight, got to 25 and it clicked off, the next 30 were, a stream of constant clicks, vapour locks suck, but then I do try and fill up on an evening when the garage is empty.
