Evening chaps,

I've been looking at the classifieds tonight and getting dreaded insurance quotes! I thought I would see what input you all have.

Budget £35k max
Minimum 4 seats
No BMW's (Just because I think they all look rather bland interior wise)
Not to bothered about economy

I am liking the look of the RS3 at the moment, Anybody got one, driven one?

Sorry it seems, well is another what car thread!

Many thanks

Ben

BMW's have bland interiors so you want an RS3?

The newer BMW's do have bland interiors in my opinion.

Where is that 'the colourful world of Audi' picture when I need it? hehe

Oh I'm not disputing that, if that's not your thing no problem, but surely the RS3 interior is on another level of boring?

Read the title and thought you were looking to buy a twenty one year old hot hatch...

Do you need to spend £35K or would something like a Megane 265 or DS3 Racing do?

21 with £35k to spunk on a car you must be doing something right.
Why hot hatch? I'd go 996 turbo with change or does it have to be brand new?

I agree it's not the best of the bunch, I think Audi do alot better than BMW on interiors, What would you guys go for?

Wow I'd say if you have that sort of Money available I would pick something a bit more special than a hot hatch and just keep like £5k spare for running costs.

Edit: if insurance is an issue get something like a clio 200 and keep over £15k in the bank. smile

if you're going to spend big(ish) money on a hot hatch why not buy something properly brilliant? megane, rs or go the other way and get an older 911. you're gonna get raped by insurance so you might as well get something good and not just another audi

No it won't. I've just got a quote for £1200 on an Evo 8 FQ320 (2yrs ncb) and a friend has just insured his Focus RS for £1450, 21, 0 no claims and a fault claim against him.

Try harder yes

To be fair, you could get something fairly quick but reasonable with 4 seats, then get toy, Exige or the like.

Thats what I would do if I was you, but if youre keen on one car with 4 seats, heres some thats in budget I thought of.

Maserati Gransport (22-35k)
RS4,
bit more soft, but a Maserati GT
GTR...

Does it have to be a hot hatch? With that budget a hot hatch would be the last thing on my mind, car wise.

I've just done the most rudimentary quote. 21yesterday, random cheshire address, 0ncb, no additional drivers, student, leaves car in a public car park and the first quote is £4167 for the car you tried on.
