Hello friendly PHers!

a colleague of mine has left the lights on on one of our fleet Honda insights (10 plate). I'm told by Honda they can be jump started and the battery is in the boot, however this was from someone that 'isn't technically minded'

does anyone know if they have two battery's? one for the hybrid drive, one 12v for all the usual? Or is it just a multi talented single battery that does it all?

whats the best way to get this lettuce eating POS working again, we've got a planet to save!

Pretty sure there's two batteries, one for lights, starter, etc. and one for IMA. Not absolutely certain, though.

Normally with these cars there is 2 different batteries - one 12v system and one much much higher voltage one. 12v for accessories, the other battery system is for the drive system.

IIRC the Prius doesn't even have an alternator, just a transformer for the 12v side!

Hondas aren't renown for their tolerance to badly attempted jump starts whereupon the immobiliser spits it's dummy out and needs recoding at the dealers. Call your breakdown provider .
