I have this one that i bought with my samsung led smart tele few months back. seems to do the job well enough for a 2.1 system and i love the bluetooth feature so i can hock my ipod or ipad up and play music without and cables or docks. Also the wireless sub means no long cables should you want the sub at the back of the room.

It wont replace a 5.1 system but i wanted something small and smart looking without speakers everywhere around the room. Id recommend it.

Yeah power etc looks the same so I am thinking if I am getting an LG tv it would be better to go LG?

seems to have all the same features and like you say i went with samsung as the tv was samsung. go for it! i mounted mine underneath the tv on the wall but had to make some spacers to get it to sit out inline with the tv.

I too am looking at possibly buying the LG soundbar as mentioned above. My online research into this product has produced customer reviews from "excellent" to "absolutely terrible" and everything in between.
One thing that I saw mentioned was concerning the wireless sub. It seems that the signal from this can interfere or cancel out a wifi signal? Anyone confirm this? Actually, due to the layout of our room, I do not need a wireless sub but have not seen any subs with a wire in this kind of price range?

We have a 50" LG plasma TV.

I will answer my own post lol. Went out this evening with the intention of buying the LG soundbar. Had a brief demo in the shop and it sounded OK. The salesman then took me over to a Yamaha model. This was properly set up with suitable film & music to hand. The sound was awesome, way better than I expected. I bought the Yamaha YAS-201 soundbar on the spot. Only downside is it cost exactly twice as much at 400E. My wife will kill me when she gets back. Pleased to note that I am sitting being boomed by the wireless subwoofer whilst logged onto the web using the wifi with no conflict or problems at all.

A simple 'husband lie' is in order here. "Darling, the LG soundbar was incompatible with the existing co-axial, wireless interface controller. It was actually cheaper to buy the Yamaha than change the existing co-axial, wireless interface controller. Your hair looks nice."

hehe ahhh the voice of experience!

Always distract them at the end of something like that with a compliment they'll never suspect a thing...

To add to the topic we grabbed a Phillips sound bar with a wired sub and Bluetooth. For £125 i was impressed they seem like decent little units!

I know you bought a different bar but in respect to your question Ive not noticed any interference caused by the sub and it sits behind the couch. I have a ps3, wii, wireless tv, mobiles and a router in the room with no problem. The wireless pc upstairs has no issues either.

Its a decent upgrade from the standard built in speakers on my wafer thin lg tv. Only annoying thing at the moment is the tv remote doesnt control the volume of the bar so I currently have 2 remotes.

I have a 50" Samsung, hung mm's off the wall and the soundbar looked ridiculous next to the "picture" frame TV, so went with a different recommendation of these

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/bose-companion-3-2-1...

The sound is awesome and you can control the volume from the TV remote as well as plug in ipod etc, highly recommend
