Just requested corrections to job offer contract

Anyone else done this? I couldn't in good conscience sign with the holes in it as was, but I'm convinced I've just talked myself out of a job.

Anyone else done the same? Was it taken positively or did you get the heave-ho?

Concerns were reasonably framed with a note that I was still very enthusiastic about the role and hoped that the clarification requests were taken positively.

As long as it's not changing salary, then pretty much everything else is up for discussion, IME.

I'm a contractor rather than a permie, but I can't remember the last time I didn't insist that something in a contract wasn't changed.

I did the same with the last role I took, nothing serious by the Holiday allowance was different to what was advertised, took some too-ing and fro-ing but it was all sorted quite quickly.

They're probably impressed your not the type of idiot who'll just blindly sign anything under your nose.

Slight O/T but a question for you contractors. I'm about to move into contracting and was wondering about what checks you do on the contract. Should I just read through it and check for obvious stuff or should I get somebody to check it for a fee?

If you join the PCG then I think they have a contract checking service. Unless you are very sure of your legal and IR35 knowledge, I'd be paying an accountant to have a good read and possibly a lawyer too.
