Headlight Pod Upgrade
Discussion
I've always planed on upgrading the lights to 7" units when the need arose to have the front end resprayed. Well I think the time is nearly here.
My original thoughts were to have the body shop do them at the same time as the re-spray, but as I have the time I'm thinking about doing them myself.
So the questions are:
Do I change the pods first, which is my preferred route just incase I damage the paintwork.
Are they such a pain to do that it would be better to let the shop do then at the same time?
Is it possible to install the pods in a firm state so that the front end can be sprayed and the silicone applied after?
Any advice and guidance from those that have upgraded would be appreciated, also does anyone have a copy of the guide for changing the pods which I think used to be on the Griffpages?
Many thanksz

If it were me I would let the paintshop do them. Doing them beforehand simply means they need to be removed again to paint the pods? Using a certain place that supply 7" lights and do paintwork would be my choice, and I guess they may well do a deal on the lights?
+1.. get them to do it but they must make sure you can get the headlight adjustment as they tend to top out.You can buy them from Sportmotive without them fitting them

If you are using smoked headlight covers, an exact paintmatch doesnt matter (obviously it needs to be fairly close) because the smoked coversw will darken the pod colour down.
+1 for Sportmotive selling the kits for self assembly. They also offer a painting service for self assembly as well.
