Hi all!

Have been a browser and not much of a poster but thought i would share with you my car i purchased last saturday! I know its not a PH car and not an expensive one but thought i'd just introduce myself with it anyway! smile

Just purchased a 2001 honda civic 1.6 vtec SE Executive hatchback 5 door, as i now have a 2 week old baby girl and my old car (fiat punto active) was falling apart. Always respected Honda's for their general build quality so travelled some miles with my girlfriends dad to have a look at this after seeing some horrid conditioned ZR and they offered me a bargain px for my punto, fell in love with it and drove it back home!

Not done much to it, just the basic by putting in some cheapish but better / brighter headlight bulbs, bright LED sidelights and installed a factory CD player as it had the original cassette player in there. (HOW HARD IS IT JUST TO TAKE IT OUT? haha!) Got clear repeaters coming and chrome front indicators on the way. Just want to do some subtle mods ATM and keep it mostly standard but that will probably all change in the next few weeks!

So here it is..

BTW i know it needs a good clean and polish, started the day i got it with my gf's dad but only partly did it. It rained and i am now back at sqaure one, typical! Will be giving it a real good this weekend and clear up the rest of the scratches. Then more onto the interior and clean that out! Any advice on where to put a CD changer will be greatly appreciated too!

Looks a clean and tidy car.

Best of luck with it and your new little arrival.

Looks well in the pics. Always wondered though, how does vtec feel in "normal" Hondas?. As in, ones that aren't Type R's.

Do you still feel that kick when it gets into the higher revs?

Haven't drove anything like a type R, always had cheap insure cars!Quickest car being a 1.8 TDI focus so says it all lol!

Generally you do feel the 'kick' around the 5kish mark i would say. Sorry i couldnt give you any more feedback!

Is the cam switch in these ones not to an economy cam for saving petrol once up to speed?

Got the 5 door for the ease of putting a car seat in and out everyday! smile will eventually switch to a 2 door once she has grown a bit! (The baby, not the car wink)

Will sign up now, thank you! smile
