cheap motorway muncher. Would the mileage put you off?

Chrysler 300C 3.0 V6 CRD AUTO, Ex chauffeur vehicle with a impeccable history, but 249,767 miles!!!. Add is below. The trader wants 5k but i would get it for closer to the 4k i think. Is this crazy to even consider this.

don't really know why you'd consider that - for that kind of money you have a huge choice of very capable motorway cars....
Maybe he likes that kind of car ?Ex chauffeur cars often have terrible maintenance histories - an oil change here and there, but minimal spend and maximum time on the road. I've been driven in these sorts of cars a lot, and the number of times I've seen warning lights on the dash is astonishing.
If it had a well-documented history AND it was £3k, then why not? At £5k, however, and assuming a patchy (at best) service history, I'd look again.

Ive just noticed the trader.....
Lets just say my friend and i had an "eye opening" experience at that particular site when looking at a Saab 9-3 aero for him.
Not as described at all, everything that could be broken/problematic/not as described was. ever panel had damage, every alloy kerbed, the bodykit had kerb rash so bad it was down to bear plastic in places - went to check the windows, which promptly rattled down and were v slow to come up, (the passenger one fell into the door and broke!) - the last straw was when we tried to bring these faults to attention he gave my friend a mouthful of abuse about how we'd wasted HIS time (hour and a half drive for us) when he had pretty much chucked us the keys and left us to it.
Apparently hes "sold loads of cars, if we didnt buy it some other punter would etc etc and you cant expect it to be showroom condition for that age". I'd give it a very wide berth if i were you (IMO IMO IMO)
Here it is, still after 2 months

In regards to high milers, nothing to worry about as long as you have a comprehensive and full service history. The maintenence is the key!
Edited to include the very car mentioned (still for sale showing none of the damage in the ad)
