Lip Sync?

So Beyonce did lip sync at the Obama inauguration - does it matter. Obviously she can sing, and doing an entire live concert would be a bit of a swizz. But when is it OK to get a "good performance". Occasionally, I stumble upon an old Top Of The Pops and back in the 70's a lot more live vocals going on there.

If it was a Beyonce gig I'd expect her to sing live, but she was there to perform for someone else's big day so if she felt their day would look/sound better by miming then I don't have a problem with that.

She has chosen not to mime at the Superbowl. That is the whole country's big day.
