Wave goodbye from a Griffith devotee
Discussion
I'm feeling a bit down I'm afraid to report. After something like 9 years of TVR ownership.. it's blip time. This Saturday, Big Blue will be rumbling off with his next owner. Am trying to philosophical about it ('..how many people can say they've owned a 5 litre super-monster etc etc...') but it's not helping ease the pain so much. Damn that useless lottery ticket last weekend. Oh well, chin up Ed, anyway, how many people can say they've... oh no I tried that one already. Sob.

I'm surprised just how much I'm dreading handing him over. And to cap it, 30 mins later I drop the other half off at Gatwick & wave bye bye to here for 2 weeks too! Gee. Saturday is suddenly my least favourite day.
I've also tried the 'its only a car' argument to myself, as well as 'think of all the fuel savings' etc etc but dont need to tell anyone on here that it's never going to work.
Tequila Vodka & Red Bull is the nearest I'll get to having one this weekend. Possibly several

I'm not sure if i'm filling up with you or for you, coz i can't remember what i did with my time and money before i got a TVR. Diane and I now have such a great crowd of new friends (i've forgotten my relatives names and where they live!!)
If i were to sell my tiv...well it would be back to my wood turning and painting to house.
So are you sure you want to sell?????
you still have time to change you mind eh!!
Yaall come back now ya hear!!

I'm 100% sure I DONT want to sell! It's house time & have a 15% deposit to finance etc etc. It's going to be at least 2+ years before I can even think of getting another loan for a car.. but yup damn right I'll be back one day...there really isnt another marque that does it for me.

Ed, I think I will be joining you as it looks like my Griff has gone as well.
I don't know how I will cope without it, but the wife hasn't stopped celebrating and I haven't stopped sulking!
Hope things turn out ok for you with the house.

Hey......C'mon.....think positive now.....
You're doing this for the best possible reason....getting on the property ladder is bl**dy difficult and is a great investment for your future.
2 years will go really fast and you will probably have enough equity in your home to finance another TVR.
Instead of being down....you have every reason to look towards a good future......
It will be hard to let her go.......and I sympathise with that ...really.... but it's all for the good in the end......

After 6 years of TVR ownership, I know just how you feel. I've only just put my Tuscan in the PH classifieds so its not sold yet, but I'm getting the same feeling of illogical loss already. In some ways, I'd just like a clean break with no prolongation of it. i.e. some comes to buy, hands over the cash, and goes with the car -just like that.
Oh well, I've got so much going on in my life right now that I will have to just cope and get on with it I guess.
