Once again the HT lead from number 4 ? plug has popped off. I shoved it on and jiggled it a bit then pulled it off again. Unfortunately it left the metal end bit on the plug extender not on the rubber boot,, oops!

Luckily the prev owner left loads of spares some of which were a set of magnecor HT leads. He had numbered them, I have replaced number 4 with the one that came off but my question is why do some of the leads have a right angled boot that fits to the distributor and some are straight.
My next query was that the plug labelled 8, which is the longest had a straight boot , however the one it replaced had a right angled boot, both were same length does this matter ?
I took number 8 cylinder/ plug to be the one nearest the driver ?

car fired up fine and running ok

Thanks

They arn't quite the right ones then I think, if they work ok and don't foul anything then shouldnt be an issue?

No I didn't think it was right. Having a service next week so let them sort it. I wonder if guy labelled them differently. I'm taking numbers from Steve heath bible.
