Sound & heat Insulation for transmission tunnel??

As per the title i am looking to improve on the transmission tunnel heat and sound proofing as the TKO 600 kicks out some serious heat on full chat and is somewhat louder than the T5!
I know there are some new products that have crossed over from aircraft manafacture but i have had no luck finding them on tinternet!
Any of you guys found a product that works better than the standard silver matting??

have you looked at the products here: I've only used their normal sound deadening felt, which works fine under carpet, but maybe you've got more heat output than me.

Christian, I've actually got proper aftermarket sound deadening stuff fitted in mine.

I haven't noticed any real difference.

I was hoping to find something that dealt with both issues Heat & Noise!

One solution I have used in the past is to get a hot water tank lagging kit (make sure it is a fireproof one). Then pop rivet it to the tunnel with big washers.

I'm about to have my interior recarpeted and will probably use this stuff underneath.

It's a bit like combining felt/lagging with an integrated rubber layer which should do a pretty good job for both sound and heat.

What about additional layers underneath the body, directly above the gearbox itself?

Thats where i want to put it underneath the heat shielding!
