My Dad's 2008 B7 A4 3.0 TDI is now fully out of warranty and has no further ties to the Audi dealership, so does anyone know any good garages, ideally specialists, around the Inverness area that could look after it for servicing and maintenance?

My first thought was Jimmy Cruickshank who looks after my E46 but I know he is more of a BMW specialist, so does anyone have any more suggestions?

Also, am I correct in thinking that getting it serviced away from the Audi dealership won't affect the trade in value of the car in 5 or 6 years time so long as it has a FSH? We have had the car since brand new and it has a full Audi SH at the moment.

Thanks for any help! smile

Kenny's autos is a VAG specialist of sorts I think, always seems busy too so they must be doing something right.

Any particular reason for moving away from HA?

Another vote for Kenny's Autos. I worked with Kenny and another chap Hepburn who both worked for many many years at a local VW garage before going it alone wink. Very busy garage every time I have been down.

Full dealer SH is generally worth more than just FSH. Just because you know the garage is good and uses legit model specific parts, doesn't mean any prospective buyer will. However the fact that it'll be 8 or 9 years old when you sell negates this to a large extent (as it's worth will be largely due to it's condition, not it's history)

If you were happy with the Main Dealer, would it not be worth speaking to them and see if they could do a deal on prices?

I am sure they would prefer a %age of something, rather than 100% of nothing?

Thanks for all the replies so far - to those asking about the main dealer, they seem to be very expensive and the general consensus over in GG seems to be that independent specialists with a good reputation seem to be the better option as the car gets older.

Hadn't thought about asking the dealer for a deal as they haven't been too keen on moving on price in the past but I suppose it is worth a go.

Have passed on all the information to my Dad so I will see what he says. Cheers smile

I would echo what others have said about Kenny, although I have never used his services I have heard he is
good and knows his stuff.
Even though a full dealer history looks good I have dealt with this gmain dealer and a previous high regard
was demolished in a few hours.
