997 upgrade question - what next?
Discussion
Hi all. I started Pork ownership with a used 2002 996 C2, then upgraded to a used 2005 997 C4S. Have had it for 2 years. Love it, but am now thinking about what's next. 991's are still pricey. 997 Gen 2 not that different from what I have now. So am thinking about a 997 Turbo for a few years until used 991 prices decline. Thoughts? Any / all opinions welcome. Thanks.
997 Turbo prices are already looking very attractive - couple of very nice Cobalt Blue ones here http://www.rsjsportscars.co.uk/used-porsche/
I went from 997 2S to 996 Turbo then 997 4S then to 997 Turbo.
Sold the turbo last year and have now just gone back to a 2S.
Loved the turbo but missed the exhaust noise.
Also found I was doing silly speeds very quickly.
Out of all the 2S is what I enjoy the most for everyday driving.
Glad I bought and have experienced the turbo though.
I need 4 seats otherwise would look at a GT3.

Depends on budget and what you are looking for speed, involvement etc...
I went from 996 C4S to 997 C4S and although technically better enjoyed driving the 996 much more.
Never seen a 2005 997 C4S
I have an Oct 2006 C4S on 55 plates. They were released late 2006 I think. Someone will be along who knows for sure no doubt.I went from 996 C4S to 997 C4S and although technically better enjoyed driving the 996 much more.
