Took the Griff out today for its first run of 2013!
Started no problem as i have had it wired up to the acumen trickle charger in garage.
Drove for about 30 minutes and stopped off to pick up a friend, but could not start up again.
I have had slight issues with the immobilizer in the past, but this was a different issue.
The ignition did nothing, (Flat Battery)
Called the AA and they jump started the car with booster pack smile
Question 1: does the acumen damage the battery over time as its works as a trickle charger etc.
Question 2 : Were can i get a replacement battery and what make power grade would be best for the Griff.
I have used the acumen for the past 3 years without a problem confused

Thanks

Vince

Loads of information on batteries here
My apologies for redirecting you to the girls forum.

I've had an accumate die on me and flatten a battery. But I've replaced it and have its big brother 12v/24v.
The little one protects the Griff while it's big brother looks after my Landy which has a much bigger battery.
Both are on 24/7

Thanks Barreti

Have looked at your link and can now look at ordering a new battery.
I know i could just replace battery as existing fitted in the Griff, but its good to see what the lastest /better batteries are available.

Once again Thanks

Before you go replacing your battery Vince check/replace your 100a fuse.
Your problem doesn't sound like a knackered battery but a charging problem.
After 30 mins driving your battery should have been recharged.

Hi Barreti

You have a point, the battery should have held charge after 30min drive.
I had a fuse blow a couple of months back. Car was overheating because fan wasnt coming on (blown fuse)
I may have a underlying electrical gremlin.
The car service is due next month, so i will get the guys to check the electrics/fuses etc and hopefull rectify problem.

Thanks

Vince
